The brief

When NutriPlus came to us, the business was running on an ageing Magento 1 e-commerce website that had served it well but had become increasingly difficult to maintain and develop.

This wasn't simply about giving the website a fresh coat of paint.

NutriPlus needed a modern e-commerce platform that retained the important parts of its existing operation while making the website considerably easier to manage, develop and market.

We migrated the business away from Magento and rebuilt the website using WooCommerce, creating a cleaner shopping experience while dealing with the less glamorous — but incredibly important — work happening behind the scenes.

The new site also needed to accommodate an established customer base, a sizeable product catalogue, traditional catalogue and media-code marketing, fulfilment and the various systems used to run the business day to day.

What we did

The project included the migration and redevelopment of the NutriPlus e-commerce operation, product and customer data, payment systems and the integrations needed to keep everything working together.

Rather than treating the website as a standalone shop, we built it as part of the wider NutriPlus operation — connecting online sales with marketing, fulfilment and customer communications.

Technology & integrations

WooCommerce
The new e-commerce platform, replacing the previous Magento 1 website.

Mail Integration
Customer and order data integrated with the company's email and direct marketing operation.

West Quay Fulfilment Integration
Orders integrated with the external fulfilment operation, helping move orders efficiently from the website through to picking, packing and dispatch.

Meta / Facebook Marketing Integration
Integration with Meta's advertising and tracking technology to support Facebook and Instagram advertising, remarketing and campaign measurement.

INFRA Integration
Integration with the company's wider operational and customer systems.

Analytics & Tracking
E-commerce tracking and measurement built into the site to provide a clearer picture of customer behaviour, sales and marketing performance.

The result

The result is a considerably more manageable e-commerce platform that brings a long-established mail-order supplement business into a more modern digital environment.

More importantly, the project demonstrates the sort of work that isn't always obvious when you look at the finished website.

Behind the product pages and checkout is the integration of e-commerce, fulfilment, customer data, marketing and analytics — all of which need to work together reliably when you're dealing with an established business and a customer base of more than 100,000 people.

Proper e-commerce isn't just about making the website look good. It's about making the whole thing work.
